Last month our family spent 11 days on the high plateau in Yushu Prefecture. We spent nearly the entire time above 12,000 feet and reaching as high 15,830 feet. It was our first time being in this region together in nearly 3 1/2 years. We had a great time exploring, hiking, meeting friends and spending time praying for the region. The construction from the April 2010 earthquake is now nearly complete. Here are some pictures of our recent time in Yushu prefecture.

Our family at the beginning on a pilgrimage route around a famous mountain that is considered holy to the Tibetan people. The mountain is covered in several billion (yes, billion!) Buddhist prayer flags, which can be seen behind us.

Josiah and Tyler met some new friends at the Yumbhu Lhakang Temple in the Nangchen region. These boys are all monks at a Buddhist monastery.
